Radiesse is a dermal filler. Injected under the skin, it’s commonly used to increase facial volume, which naturally diminishes as you age. Smile lines, chin wrinkles and even pre-jowl lines can be treated. Another great use for Radiesse is to add fullness back to your cheeks. Results can last 6 months to over a year in some patients, making Radiesse both highly effective and long lasting.
Adding fillers to your cheeks can recontour the cheek lines, presenting a more youthful appearance. By reestablishing the shape of the cheek near the orbital rim helps fight of the early signs of aging and facial volume loss.
How Does Radiesse Work?
Radiesse is composed of microspheres of Calcium Hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel carrier. When injected beneath the skin, it both adds immediate volume to the treated ares, but also helps stimulate the production of your own natural collagen. The gel and microspheres are absorbed by the body over time, leaving only the natural collagen behind.
Who Shouldn’t Get Radiesse Treatments
Radiesse (and most dermal fillers) are not for people allergic to the contents, as well as women who are pregnant. If you’ve had herpes, you may experience an outbreak after using Radiesse. As with any injectble treatment, there’s always potential for risk of infection, Always let your healthcare provider know about any treatments you are receiving. The microspheres can be seen on X-rays as well.
